Accountability at all levels makes a nation Prosperous and happy !!!
It is people and their attitude that makes them work the way they do, where ever they are either in schools, public places, Government organizations or in private organizations, educational institutes, with friends, families, etc.
The attitude of the people towards their work or even how they look at themselves - makes the Difference - the success of the organization or the failure of the organization, family life, or social work, even for that matter self improvement, for which they are working relentlessly. The attitude, that is what counts for failure of Government, industrial, educational or to that matter any organization including NGOs, families or individual.
Any change needs persistent efforts and reasonable time.
We can not improve any thing until and unless we make every one accountable.
My limited ability to think always brings back me to same conclusions.
Shall we call it accountability at all levels.
Accountability in government offices, public/private sector and Government controlled organizations: (here I suggest involving parents to improve lot of students by follow up action). Let every government/private official/clerk mark the date by which he can complete the work which he is taking up, and give reasons if it could not be completed as he has planned on a separate sheet and let it be filed in the same file as per accountability format.
We should trust their honesty these records can be used in case of investigation. No one likes to record excuses forever - you see - as such he will find out ways to improve his working methods.
Accountability in Schools and Colleges (Staff): Let the teachers and lecturers let students know in advance what they are going to teach students (weekly plan) during the year. And see that students prepared them selves as per plan in advance every week. - Teacher Guide - Guru devo bhava.
Accountability in Schools and Colleges (Students): Let students prepare them selves as per plan for the classes and get their doubts clarified in the class than being dumb listeners as they are doing today. - A change in student attitude - time sense and accountability brings a change in the attitude of the parents also, indirectly, as they like to discuss their children's achievements when they get together - all of us did that. - Confidence building measures.
Accountability of general public: (After all a student is part and parcel of public). Let the public realize that time is an irretrievable commodity and they should not waste it or allow others to waste their time. - Though time and money are interchangeable commodities (one can save money by walking than using an auto to save time) - lost time can never be recovered and time is irreversible - let no one waste it.
Insist on quick and speedy heavy punishments for the persons responsible to convert them into responsible citizens. They should be given an opportunity through heavy financial punishment of 10 times of the corruption involvement to the corrupt and make him realize in Mahatma Gandhi's saying that we have every ting to meet every ones need but not the greed.
They should find means of electing responsible representatives to govern us through public debates, and insisting on the account of the performance of the government at quarterly intervals through white papers and transparent government policies.
Accountability of education system: It should be capable of estimating the demand for salable-services and let students know in advance what is the likely out come of his spending his time and efforts for 15 to 20 years with it.- Salable skills.
Accountability of the parents: They should spend at least 15 minuets with children every day and guide them so as to enable the children to lead a happy and prosperous life with satisfying job environment. Accountability of neighbors: Ensure that you keep your environment clean and help your neighbor keep his clean by not making it dirty yourself. Maintain good relations and if not possible let them not develop to the level of peace shattering quarrels. - Understanding Freedom
Accountability of the Elected representatives and Governments: They should ensure that the rules of the game are same to every one including elected representatives.
Create financial protective system for every elected representative for life. This burden will be much less on the society that sense less pondering resorted to by the elected representatives to recover the amounts spent by them in election expenses, hundred fold with in a span of one to two years due to uncertainty of their tenure.
Device a taxation system which is fair to all. Present methods of exemption are having large scope for corruption. Every one and every service should be reasonably taxed. The machinery of government should work for the benefit of the majority of the public. It is applicable even to Food Corporation of India, Employees provident fund, income tax department etc.
Find out methods of finding demand for salable-skills in advance and let students and public know about it so as to enable them to guide their children to increase the probability of finding out a satisfying job environment when they grow up.
Senseless job security makes people work in unsatisfying job conditions and thus resulting in inefficient work and loss to every one, all, the employer, employee, and the general public, and the main source of corruption at employment level. - Manage a Nation's economy through skill-time management.
Accountability of the Judiciary: Time is the essence of Justice. It should be fast and quick. If some judge's findings are reversed for more than 25% of the times by appeals with an year, the judge concerned should be shifted to administrative post as he is not applying his mind to hearing and administering the justice. Non application of mind by the lower court judge is one of the inevitable and consistent reasons given by all appealing lawyers to the higher court. I fail to understand why it is not taken into consideration while finding suitability of the judge to administer the justice.- Understanding Freedom
Accountability for remuneration: That every individual should be accountable for his actions by himself and satisfy his conscience by asking simple questions like do I deserve my remuneration/salary/ wages for the day by the services I have rendered. Will I be willing to pay this amount to a daily worker if I engage him to do the same work- if not what is to be done to bring in equality of equal remuneration for equal work. - What is that You want ?!?
Now let us understand some terms with out ambiguity:
Happiness is achieving things in time. This you might nave noticed when you could catch a buss or train just in time. After all we all are watching games, track events etc. We get sense of happiness by seeing people achieve things in time (imagine the happiness you have on completing the tasks in-time. Time is an irretrievable commodity and we should not waste our time or others time. In my view Developed countries are what they are today because they value time.
Feed Back: This is the ability of the individual, organization, society etc., to look back and assess the situation impartially. Account for their actions, results achieved, and corrections to be made to their attitude and actions to achieve much better results than what they have achieved in given time frame.
Penalty for not being accountable or irresponsible: The penalty imposed should cause sufficient pain (heavy financial loss makes people behave properly), immediately or with in a weeks time so that the human brain can relate the loss to its irresponsible behavior.
Corruption: It is a mental disease and it is worse than begging or extortion. It destroys you and your society and country by making you, a poor manager of your assets, careless spender, and results in degeneration of national assets and results in an insecure society.
Younger generation has to face the brunt of our reckless spending in the form of inflation or lack of jobs and dissatisfaction of living in a corrupt society or even may face economic depression. More in salable-skills.
No individual will like to create conditions, which are harmful to his Younger generation - knowingly.
People who are corrupt are unable to see this long term devastating effects under the influence of the sickness of short-term benefits. - This Sickness can be cured - like madness - by creating individual awareness of long term devastation it is causing. It needs harsh treatment to cure it.
Telling lies: No one likes to be cheated by others. Let people realize that by telling lies they are cheating themselves which they do not like others to do it to them. How can you have a cheating free society as long as you practice self-cheating. Corrupt practices are outcome of this self-cheating process.
The trio that is manifesting it self in million ways of corruption in all walks of life.
First lesson in corruption: In ability of parents to use three words properly when they have to deal with their youngsters.
Yes, no, we look-into.
Indiscriminate use of "NO" means nothing to a youngster. It even we interpret it as a challenge to his manipulative capabilities and behaves as such to manipulate his parents to change a "NO" to "YES". He will not care to know nor understand the unpleasantness that his action may create in parents.
On the lighter side of the life:
Question " What is the difference between a daughter and a son?". Answer "Daughter is one whom you send out of house, and the son is one who sends you out". How do you like it to be true in your case. Are corrupt people grooming their sons to be so. Let us think a while.
We should agree to hold parents squarely responsible for this behavior of their children.
When the two letters word "NO" means nothing to majority it begins to corrupt the people and then the society.
We can give umpteen number of our experiences where "NO' is used to indicate to us by corrupt people, that our work will not be done with out illegal gratification.
When parents have to use the word "no", they have to go through the process of "we look-into" and try to understand the child first and give him alternatives to choose.
For example when a child wants an expensive gift the parents should put the finical constraints before the child and ask him to choose between the expensive gift and forgoing his birth day party, or dress, or some other benefit. For any reason if parents have to use the word "no" it has to be a firm "no". Then only the child will understand that he has to make sacrifices or live with limitations for the sake of peaceful life to all. Hello parents are you listening? - build a world with children with fewer tensions.
What all I told is equally holds good for "YES" if it is used indiscriminately.
Nature wanted us to learn from both extremes that they are the boundaries of dangerous oblivion (state of being forgotten). Dear parents learn how to manage your-self between the boundaries, learn to practice "let us-look" into before you say "YES" or "NO".
The problems you are facing now more or less have to be faced by your children, as they grow old. This attitude of yours to find time to "look-into" and find out the necessity of your saying "yes" or "no" is 100 times more valuable than college degree and helps them in leading more balanced and reasonably contended lives. Who can give this exposure through practical experience than you PARENTS. Hello is there any one to listen?
Second lesson in corruption: Telling lies or half-truths are with a hope that we can cheat the listener for all times to come. You can not cheat others until and unless you cheat yourself first, remember this. Never expect an undue benefit what you don't deserve for long by resorting to the path of confusion. Simply we don't know who is more confused, the teller, the listener and/or both equally.
Third lesson in corruption: Making student pass with unreasonable sense-less marks which mean nothing. What do we mean a student got pass-marks of 30% in languages. Do we mean he understands 30% percent of what he is speaking, or he understands 30% of what we are telling him and/or both.
Imagine the consequences if mother use this standard and gives us 30% cooked food as acceptable.
Change the education system to tell the student where he is good and where he is not. Let him have a clear idea of what he can do well and what he can't.
Any way I am always at a loss to understand the percentage mark system, as I fail to understand to whose knowledge (whose capability) it is referring to.
What the % of marks given by examination system means to you?
It is not definitely the 30% of what a student has to read.
Not definitely of the 30% of the paper-set as he has to answer part of the paper-set due to options allowed.
In all probability it is the 30% of the teacher's (who is correcting the paper) comprehension of what he thinks the student is capable of understanding. Look how a student has to depend himself with the assessment of a person he never knows. The end result is no one is having faith in these marks or marking system. Have a look at different competitive exams to prove that one is capable all over and what others think about our percentage of examination marks.
At times it turns-out to be a bare truth that a failure is found to be so due to the comprehension error of the examiner.
As three basic colors in TV mix together and result in millions of colors, the three basic lessons in corruption and mixture of them in various proportions is manifesting it-self in million forms. In my opinion it is the basic reason for corrupt individuals and society. You see how illogical or shall we say incapable the people have become when they think getting things done in their favor by corrupt practices is fair enough. It becomes a horrible and ugly act when others get benefited through the same practices and the thinkers lose because of those corrupt practices. What we call such thinking? I hope you will agree with the following horrible word combination "double-standards" yes or no?
The only way to get out of living in this helpless sate of doing things, which we consistently dislike and criticize, is accountability, and to shun away from double-standards. This is applicable to all, rulers and the ruled, boys and girls, parents and children, Judges and the Judged, rich and poor.
Let parents know what their action, under the influence of "false interpretation of love" towards their children, in pampering them, is the main cause of the present situation in society.
Inadvertently we are creating a society with self-centered interests. Landing others and ourselves we are associated with, into unsatisfied life styles and life.
I can not imagine that a normal parent giving sweets to its child when he/she knows the likely hood of it becoming a diabetic patient is very high and more so when chilled is a diabetic patient already.
No parent wants to do what is harmful to his/her child's future knowingly. Let us find a way to let parents to know using "YES" or "NO" indiscriminately is worse than giving sugar-rich sweets to a diabetic child, as they are landing the children to create and live in a state of dissatisfaction forever.
You are my best hope to make parents know about the best nutritious food to brain "we look-into". The magic word combination if practiced will makes us and our children strong enough to build a happy prosperous families, societies and world around us.
Why not let others know by setting yourself as an example right now?!
Let education system become responsible, honest and give an opportunity to the student know what is the purpose of his education.
I asked many and want you to do so. You will be surprised to listen to very vague and sketchy explanations. We are sure we will not spend a penny on such vaguely defined products. May be it is only education where parents don't demand value for their money, why? why? so.
Let the education system, the government, and the parents take the responsibility of explaining to the student what he can expect of it when he wants to settle in life, with honesty and with out ambiguity.
What is expected of him to prove him-self and where he stands. Allow the student to learn by himself and be guided by teachers.
Teachers acting as living tape recorders and more or less repeating what is there in books will be of not much help to students. This method is good only to make students to reproduce what is there in books and they even don't make any effort to understand it if they are passing in exams. My conclusion is based on listening and guiding many students to understand basics properly, which made them self-dependent after learning basics. Surprisingly failures have become college first students. Hello is there any one to comment I am willing to listen and learn.
Education system should build self-confidence in students but should not destroy it as it is doing now. Students are afraid of asking any questions as they may fall in teachers' view and may be rewarded with fewer marks.
We should understand that there is nothing like unilateral benefit. No one can gain anything until and useless some one else is loosing it. Environmental degradation is one of the best examples to show that the loss is inevitable, but may have a delayed effect.

Some brief suggestions for those who insist to find out some solutions in this article itself.
However I hope they will be interested enough to know more, all about my efforts to find a world of peace and prosperity built through righteducation to one and all. Hopefully all children below age of 5 years as of now and we can build a world of their liking with help of dynamic people like you.
My experiments and findings show that all (students, adolescents, adults and children) love to learn about life and want to lead a respectable life. If we can make their learning purposeful and can convince them how efforts can help them in achieving their goal in life, we hardly put any further efforts in teaching them.
They learn them self and normally become what they want to be. Employed with respect!!!. All we have to do is keep watching their progress occasionally and guide them as and when they need it.
There is a potential possibility of reducing teacher workload by 80% as of now and improve the performance of the child by over 3 fold if teachers train themselves to be guides.
Make every citizen including teachers, students, educational institutions, private and public employees, elected representatives, parents together, children, neighbors together, accountable for educational system, Nation, self, and each other.
Very difficult to implement- not at all - all we have to do is give small goals and see that they are achieved.
I do not know, How can I convince you the readers that you are the key.
Following solutions, which are seemingly simple, can bring lot of changes if they are carried out religiously.
This I can tell with confidence from the experiments I have carried out on the students who failed in their exams. And one of them tried to commit suicide - All of them came out as first class students within a span of three to four years and are successful citizens of India today. Executives found better methods of managing their official duties and so on. The people got benefited are aged from 5 to 45 years.
Even I was surprised to find the similarities in working methods and improvements achieved.

Make people, parents, students, children, Governments, Banks, other organizations and individuals realize that assets and asset management are two independent activities and if assets are not managed properly they erode in their value and may become a liability and make the assets holder a poor country or a poor man.
By assets I mean, manpower, materialistic possessions, national resource development, infra structure and all natural wealth.
Corollary: Assets management should be planned well in advance to planning of assets creation other wise material and manpower assets will be a liability to the nation.… most probably we have to learn a lot form Japan in this respect… More in salable-skills.
The above objectives can not be achieved with out accountability at all levels.
One and all should be accountable to himself, society, elected representatives (rulers), Nation and to one and all and vice versa.
why not? Include children in the list. Child education plays a major role in building the nation. To my mind it appears that no one is serious or actively thinking to pay any attention to, this aspect of early child education or to that matter, purpose of education in general at any level.
No one wants to be accountable until and unless his interest is involved. - Basic natural instinct of self-preservation you see.
Every one loves freedom without understanding the real meaning of it - freedom does not mean you can do what you like even if they hurt others or their interests - corruption (giving/taking) is one of the misunderstood concepts of freedom in getting things done.
Let us make people understand the importance of above concepts. They are self-confidence, assets management, accountability at all levels, role of parents in child education and responsibility of teacher guides by simple writing on the walls of the working place, and public places, why not in our homes, where we can see them every day and understand them.
Until and unless there is a change in attitude of many nothing much can be achieved by making rules and trying to enforce them.
What I propose is realizable, if all dynamic people are having a will to succeed in the above objectives. And no doubt you are having a will otherwise you might have not been reading this.
Make people understand by TV announcements, display boards and public debates the following.
Make education purposeful and meaningful.
Freedom means not doing what you like. But doing those things, which are acceptable to you, if others do it to you.
An Example: we do not like some one to hit us with boxing gloves - at the same time we love enjoying the game when two people like to exercise their freedom in a boxing ring. - That is what freedom means.
Most probably people in public life, and even individuals may not do lot of things what they are practicing (corruption, misuse of official power etc) or encourage their wards to do if they understand the meaning of freedom in this sense.
We reap what we sow. To a large extent we are responsible for what we are today and we and we alone can change it.
Do the things, which are good to others as one day or other "you" will also fall in this category of others.
For e.g. when you become old, lose a job, caught while doing some thing wrong and/or you loose respect of your own society and/or kith and kin due to your actions. With out accountability what is going as a joke in Andhra Pradesh, India., may be around you, will be a reality in your case.

Time is an irretrievable commodity. No one can afford to waste it. Developed nations are what they are because they know the value of time. Don't mix-up personal time and official time.
Even God can't help those who are not willing to help themselves and improve their lot.
As teachers we should guide and help build self-confidence in children. Living tape recorders are not our role model.

Have I carried my duty to justify earning of my remuneration for the day.
Am I willing to pay as much to a casual laborer? If he does the same work if not what else I have to do for justifying my pay packet. After all I owe a responsibility to my Nation and its people who trusted in me and gave me this position.
As an elected representative am I doing my best to fulfill all those promises I made to the people who trusted me and gave their vote of confidence.
Am I walking on the boarders of "YES" and "NO" rather than in the middle of path "we will-look into" and causing irreparable? loss to future generation, and me.
Have I taken into account of losses what I have to bear or the consequences of my action if I take any thing with out giving equivalent value, to individual, nation, and nature as compensation.
Corruption is a mental disease. Living with it is worse than Begging, extortion, and leprosy, it erodes you and the Nation - think a while and get rid of it.
Remember that Happiness is the outcome of Sharing, Caring and recognition.
